Art

Seattle, WA 2016-2018

The paintings are portraits of queer people’s most empowering garment’s. I became obsessed with garment as artifact of gender, and of embodied identity; the portal to rightness in one’s own skin. This series is small (3 finished works, plus one unfinished one which is lost to time and space), because it led me to the path-shifting realization that I needed to learn how to make the clothes themselves. In 2018, when the last piece was completed, I enrolled in the local fashion program at Seattle Central College.
